HEALTHCARE workers are among the happiest shift workers in Australia, second only to hospitality, according to Deputy’s new annual Shift Pulse Report.

Based on nearly three million surveys collected between Apr 2024 and Apr 2025, the data shows a positive shift in job satisfaction in the healthcare sector, with the combined percentage of ‘good’ and ‘amazing’ sentiments increasing from 82% in 2023 to 83% in 2024.

Shift workers in the outpatient care sector are now the most content in the country, with 91.95% reporting happiness at the end of their shift.

In-home care (87.80%) and NDIS providers (85.34%) also continued to show strong positive sentiment, fuelled by purpose-driven work and long-term relationships with clients.
