Taiwan will not be forced in Trump tariff negotiations, says Foreign Minister

US President Donald Trump has delayed the implementation of wide-ranging reciprocal tariffs at the last moment, leaving only China with a combined 145% levy, since China has not retracted its own retaliatory tariff on the US. In response to these developments, Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Chia-lung Lin points to Trump’s skillfulness in negotiating. As such, Taiwan’s strategy is to “achieve what we want by offering what they need,” aiming for mutual benefit rather than being forced to respond.
