Taiwan aims for 1,200PF AI computing power by 2029 amid funding concerns

Taiwan’s government has set an ambitious target to expand its AI computing infrastructure to 480 Petaflops (PF) by 2029, with the potential to reach 1,200 PF through private sector participation. However, the goal of exceeding 1,000 PF faces uncertainty due to recent budget cuts following amendments to the Act Governing the Allocation of Government Revenues and Expenditures.
