PHARMACISTS around the country are being called on to help promote and support ‘Wear it Red for Pain’ on Fri 19 Sep, a national initiative from Pain Australia.

The campaign aims to help break down stigma and encourage people to share their experiences around the condition.

According to the Pain Australia website, “chronic pain affects 3.6 million Australians, and many consumers tell us that pharmacists play a vital role in the lives of people with chronic pain as they are often the first trusted health professional they turn to for advice about their medicines, pain management options and support”.

Pain Australia has created a range of digital assets and resources that pharmacists can use including in-store posters to help spark conversations and fact sheets providing guidance on support services.

Pharmacists are being encouraged to wear red or decorate their stores in red on the day, with logos available to add to badges or clothing.

Pain Australia is also inviting pharmacists to share photos to feature on their website and social media.
