QUIT Centre provides health professionals with the latest information on smoking and vaping cessation, and has partnered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) to provide free CPD-accredited training.
Pharmacists and pharmacy assistants can undertake online modules designed to support the development of knowledge and skills to confidently help patients stop either of the habits in a community pharmacy setting.
The two pharmacist modules cover management options for quitting smoking or vaping, and delivering nicotine dependence treatment under the new regulatory framework introduced by theTherapeutic Goods and Other Legislation Amendment (Vaping Reforms) Act 2024.
Other resources include a downloadable infographic on how Quitline can help patients stop smoking or vaping and how to refer patients, and a quarterly e-newsletter.
