Japan passes law to buy into Rapidus, boosting control over chip strategy

Japan’s upper house has passed legal revisions that enable the government to acquire an equity stake in Rapidus, part of a broader push to strengthen the country’s next-gen semiconductor sector. The amended Act on Facilitation of Information Processing was approved on April 25 and has now been enacted.
