A NEW pre-packaged carbohydrate product designed to help treat hypoglycaemia is now available for pharmacists.

Known as Hypo Duo, the product is aimed at those managing diabetes with insulin or sulphonylurea medication, and works to resolve and stabilise blood glucose levels during and after a hypo.

The product works as a two-step process with a fast-acting 15g carb to quickly resolve a mild to moderate hypo, followed by a long-lasting 15g carb to prevent further drops.

Hypo Duo has been developed by credentialed diabetes educators Amanda Fryer and Helen Jackson in collaboration with dieticians and endocrinologists with decades of clinical experience.
