Yesterday, Costco Wholesale released a notice aimed at shoppers who may have purchased their Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobiadene (Item #1979870). In a letter sent to Costco customers, the company warned individuals who may have shopped in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota or Wisconsin to check their shelves for the product. What to do if you bought Costco Prosecco
If you purchased this product, your first instinct might be to open it up and dump it out before getting rid of it, but Costco strongly advises against opening these bottles at all. Additionally, the letter said not to return the product to your local Costco for a refund either. Instead, they’ve directed customers to wrap up the unopened bottle in paper towels and place it in a plastic bag before disposing it in a bigger garbage vessel to avoid any injuries from potential shattered glass. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused,” they concluded in their letter.
How do I get a refund for the Costco Prosecco?
Don’t bring the bottle of Costco Prosecco back to your local store for a refund. Instead, bring your receipt or the recall notice (printed from online if needed) to any Costco location, and they’ll refund the full purchase price. No receipt? Costco can look up your purchase using your membership number.
