Beverly Hilton Gives Displaced Pets the Glam Treatment After L.A. Fires

In the aftermath of the Los Angeles fires, luxury hotels like the Beverly Hilton have opened their doors to displaced residents and their pets. From free pet food to rooftop relaxation, these hotels are going above and beyond to make four-legged guests feel at home.

Not only has Hilton been offering 20,000 rooms available at no charge to those with no place to stay after the fires, but the hotel chain has also gone out of its way to make four-legged guests feel welcome too!

The Beverly Hilton has always been a pet-friendly hotel, though its website states that pets coming to the hotel cannot weigh more than 75 pounds. There is also normally a $125 non-refundable fee for a guest’s cat or dog to stay with them.

Luckily, the hotel has been waiving all pet fees during this time so that families and their furry friends have a place to stay without worrying about the added cost. But pets have been quite pampered during their stay, making the experience a pleasant one despite the circumstances.

Cody LaGrow, a Hilton spokesperson, described the hotel as being both a “glamorous zoo” and a “pooch invasion” with so many animals on the property. Even with the extra guests around, the Beverly Hilton is still making sure hospitality is in abundance.

“We have a lot of pets staying here now too, so we offer complimentary food for cats and dogs and have set up an area where people can take their dogs for a walk,” David Ecija, general manager of the Beverly Hilton, told the Beverly Hills Courier.

One of these areas has become the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, Circa 55, which is now being advertised as pet-friendly. It gives pups a chance to relax and enjoy some fresh air while their owners grab a bite to eat and admire the view.

Hotel staff have also been providing pet owners with pee pads and pet beds to ensure these special guests have everything they need during their stay.

The Hilton isn’t the only hotel in the Los Angeles area to be temporarily filled with pets. These other luxury hotels have been in the news for showing kindness to an unprecedented number of furry guests.

L’Ermitage Beverly Hills

This 5-star hotel has been providing their canine guests with comfort items like dog beds, bowls and treats. It’s also taking time to make the pups feel like local celebrities.

Frederic Zemmour, general manager of the hotel, told the Beverly Hills Courier that the staff likes to learn the names of the pets and then surprise them with a special gift: a souvenir handkerchief with their name on it.

Kimpton Palomar

The hotel is considered one of the best pet-friendly hotels in the USA, and its website makes it clear why. There are no restrictions on the number of pets per room and there is no additional charge or deposit required. It also offers water bowls delivered to your room, courtesy bags for dog walks, complimentary access to the dog walking app Wag! and a nightly hosted wine reception where pets are welcome.

With more than 250 displaced pets having stayed at the facility, one would think that even a pet-friendly hotel could begin to feel chaotic and overwhelmed. But staff members have appreciated seeing the animals and like to hand out treats too.

“It’s quite nice when you see the elevator opening up and you have sweet dogs coming out,” Rosa Schläger, director of sales and marketing for Kimpton properties in Los Angeles, told The Wall Street Journal.

The Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills

Besides waiving the pet fee for the special guests (which has included dogs, cats and a turtle), dogs get to enjoy what many would consider 5-star dining options! The Wall Street Journal reports that dog food is made in-house with Wagyu beef being one of the options for canines to chow down on.
