ASE Holdings chief operating officer Tien Wu proposed incorporating the global artificial intelligence (AI) landscape into reciprocal tariff negotiations. He stressed the importance of letting Taiwan fully utilize its semiconductor manufacturing capabilities. Wu suggested that if the US government offers appropriate policy incentives or reduces punitive tariffs, both Taiwan and the US can collaborate to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome.
