5 Class Action Settlements to Join, With Deadlines Approaching Fast

You may be missing out on an opportunity to receive settlement money from a class action lawsuit. From cars to kitchen appliances, find out which companies are providing compensation, how much you may be entitled to, steps to check your eligibility and file claims. 

Current class action settlements you may be eligible for 

Deadlines are approaching to pursue settlement payments agreed upon by these five entities following class action lawsuits, and you may qualify for part of the funds.

Walgreens pharmacy 

What: A proposed settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit on behalf of individuals, health insurers and other parties who paid for prescription drugs at Walgreens. The class action lawsuit alleged that Walgreens failed to include its Prescription Savings Club prices when determining prices for prescription reimbursement. 

The court has scheduled a Fairness Hearing to decide whether to approve the settlement, the plan for allocating the Net Settlement Fund among claimants and more details for September 10, 2025. 

How much: To resolve the claims, Walgreens will pay $100,000,000 into a settlement fund. The net amount after court-approved attorneys’ fees and additional  expenses will be paid to members of the settlement class who submit valid claims.

Who is eligible: All individuals and entities in the US and its territories who paid, in whole or in part, at any point between January 1, 2007 and November 18, 2024 for one or more prescription drugs from Walgreens, where prescription insurance benefits were used in filling the prescriptions. 

How to participate: To be entitled to a payment from the Net Settlement Fund, you must submit a Claim Form (and documentation, if required) on the File a Claim page by 

The claim filing deadline for Individual Settlement Class Members who request information about their drug purchases from Walgreens on or before April 12, 2025 is  June 16, 2025. 

United HealthCare

What: A settlement has been proposed to end a class action lawsuit against United HealthCare Services, Inc. for violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). The lawsuit alleges that UnitedHealthcare placed pre-recorded calls to cell phones without consent. 

How much: Involved parties have agreed to resolve the lawsuit with a $2,500,000 settlement to resolve the claims. Class counsel estimates that payments could be between $350 and $1,000. However, this is just an approximation, and the final amount may be more or less depending on the number of claims filed. 

Who is eligible: Anyone residing within the US who, between January 9, 2015, and January 9, 2019, received a non-emergency cell phone call through the use of an artificial or prerecorded voice, and who was not a UnitedHealthcare member or a third party authorized to receive calls on a member’s behalf at the time of the call.

How to participate: If you are a member of the settlement class, you can complete a Claim Form to share in the settlement proceeds. A Claim Form can be completed and submitted electronically or submitted by mail. In order to receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by April 15, 2025.

Mitsubishi 

What: Mitsubishi has agreed to a proposed class action settlement to resolve claims in a lawsuit alleging that the Mitsubishi Class Vehicles contain defective airbag control units that are susceptible to a condition called electrical overstress, which may cause the vehicles’ airbags and other safety features to fail during a collision.

How much: If approved, the settlement will provide cash compensation and other benefits to class members. These benefits include a $8,500,000 Settlement Fund to pay those who submit a valid claim. The cash payment will be up to $250 per Mitsubishi Class Vehicle, with the potential for additional payments of unclaimed funds, depending on the amount of claims submitted and court-awarded fees and costs. A comprehensive Mitsubishi Class Vehicle inspection program will also be provided. 

Who is eligible: The class consists of anyone who owned or leased Mitsubishi Class Vehicles that were originally sold or leased in the US or any of its territories as of November 1, 2024. 

To determine whether your vehicle is part of the class, please enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the VIN lookup page to check the eligibility of your vehicle.

Eligibility for cash payments will be determined by VIN. The Mitsubishi Class Vehicles include:

  • 2013-2017 Mitsubishi Lancer
  • 2013-2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
  • 2013-2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart
  • 2013-2016 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback 
  • 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander

How to participate: A valid claim must be submitted in order to receive cash compensation under this settlement. 

You can submit your claim using the File a Claim page electronically or postmarked by May 8, 2026.

Residential real estate brokers

What: Settlements have been reached with a dozen real estate brokers as well as the National Association of Realtors (NAR) in cases alleging that the companies and agents conspired to falsely inflate commission fees. 

How much: The settlements total over $1 billion. Individual payout amounts will vary based on specifics regarding your personal home transactions and the total number of claimants. 

Who is eligible: If you sold a home listed on a multiple listing service (MLS) between October 31, 2017, and July 23, 2024, and you paid a real estate broker commission, you may be eligible for payment. Visit the settlement website for the full list of defendants to select the settlement you may qualify for. You do not need to have sold a home through any of the listed brokers to file a claim. 

How to participate: You can file a claim for all settlements by visiting the File a Claim page by May 9, 2025. You only need to file one claim for each home you sold. 

Whirlpool Corp.

What: Whirlpool agreed to settle a case claiming that certain refrigerators under the Whirlpool, KitchenAid and Maytag brand names contain a defect that causes the appliance to develop frost build-up, preventing the refrigerator from properly cooling contents.

Who is eligible: If you purchased a new Whirlpool, KitchenAid or Maytag 3-door refrigerator manufactured between 2012 and 2019, acquired the refrigerator as part of a home purchase or remodel or received the refrigerator as a gift, you may be eligible for reimbursement to remedy past or future Frost Clog Issues that may impact the refrigerator’s ability to cool food properly.  

How to participate: To seek benefits relating to a class refrigerator that experienced Frost Clog Issues prior to January 31, 2025, you must file a claim form no later than June 18, 2025. 

For eligible Frost Clog Issue repairs needed after January 31, 2025 you must submit your Claim Form within 90 days of the date of completion of service on the Frost Clog issue.
