Justin, my son, was running an errand in the city west of our home and I stayed home with his son, Bryson.
Around 5 o’clock that evening, there was a knock at the door. When my husband, Bruce, answered it, there was a friend of my son’s telling us that Justin had been involved in a rollover crash about a quarter mile out of town. Bruce rode with him to the crash site, and I turned to Bryson in anguish.
Bryson was unaware of the accident, but he could sense my agitation. I waited for what felt like hours, though it was only a half hour. Bruce came home with Justin, and Bryson was so happy to see his dad. I was equally ecstatic to see Justin in one piece.
Justin told us that as he was headed southeast on the highway, a small car waited until the last minute before turning west into a side road. Justin hit him broadside and flipped his Jeep into the ditch and back upright on the west side of the highway. Both vehicles were totaled.
Bryson’s car seat in Justin’s Jeep was crushed. Justin’s cell phone was lost somewhere in the wreck. He couldn’t call, and he was in shock. Both drivers were alone and refused medical attention.
Justin embraced me and when I asked him how he was, he answered, slowly, “I believe I had a guardian angel today.”
“Yes,” my voice was low and shaking, “you certainly did.”
The other crash victim was without a car, had no phone, no help and no hope. Justin brought him to our house until we could get him a ride.
I was hesitant to let a stranger into my home, especially after what had happened. He sat in my chair and told me he was sorry for causing the accident and didn’t mean for it to happen.
Justin gave him a ride home. No accusations, no pointing fingers. He knew that angel watching over him would have wanted him to treat the other driver with kindness.
Angel expert Sunny Dawn Johnston says…
“Sandra’s son Justin walking away from the accident is nothing short of miraculous,” says Sunny Dawn Johnson, a global authority on the angelic realm, with a portfolio of 22 books, including popular titles such as Invoking the Archangels, The Love Never Ends, and 365 Days of Angel Prayers. “The presence of an angel is felt so deeply in stories like this, where divine protection steps in. Justin’s compassion to the other driver involved is a special kind of grace and forgiveness that we can bring into challenging moments when we are supported by unseen forces. Angels often remind us that life is precious. This story is a beautiful testament to faith and the power of love in action. It’s a reminder that miracles happen, and we are never truly alone!”
