A NEW mobile app designed as a communication and support conduit between patients and healthcare providers has been launched by Melbourne-based Solara Health.

Known as Skye, the app aims to help people navigate a complex or confusing diagnosis, prepare for major surgery, manage their recovery or help with chronic illnesses.

The app unlocks direct access to clinical expertise, support and self-management tools, while users can also monitor their rehab and recovery progress and report symptoms back to their care team.

Evidence-based content and literacy resources are also available for patients to learn about their illness or condition.

A patient’s progress can also be monitored by healthcare teams, with quality of life metrics reported to hospitals.

The Skye app is now available from iOS and Google stores.
